It's been a while since I've touched the '61FLH... I had to take it apart a while ago, so I spent a few seconds and put the rear wheel/brake/fender on etc. Hopefully, this time it won't have to come apart other than for paint.

One of the best songs ever written...

Omaha you've been weighin' heavy on my mind
Guess I never really left it all
I'm turnin' all those roads I walked around the other way
Coming back to you Omaha.
Omaha, Nebraska was that good enough for me
Always thought I was the roamin' kind
With the pockets full of dreams in my worn shirt on my back
I left there looking for some things to find.
Rode my thumb to San Francisco I worked down by the bank
Got some schoolin' faithful by the law
The hardest thing I learned there was there ain't no easy way
To get ahead behind those county walls.
So it's so long California reckon I'll be a movin' on
I'm leavin' even if I had to crawl
I've got some losin's laying round
That I left them burn waitin' there for me in Omaha.
Omaha you've been weighin' heavy on my mind
Guess I never really left it all
I'm turnin' all those roads I walked around the other way
Coming back to you Omaha.

I had to flip it over to the coaster side due to a stripped hub, so I threw a brake on it & snapped a pic.

Originally, I had wanted to clone George Cerny's 2dr Plymouth wagon for many reasons... Well, it took nearly six years to find a suitable body & during that time, Cerny's original wagon was "rediscovered" & returned to the Cerny family. Now that there's no need to clone it, I'm going to build it however I find suiting, although, I don't think it'll turn out much different.

Here is Cerny's when it first appeared in Rod & Custom, Jan of 1955. Still had the venerable six in it...

Here it is late 1956 with different paint & a Cad motor that ran 100+mph on Sunday afternoons after his ol lady brought the kids back from church in it, according to George.

George Cerny. One of the few true hot rodders... RIP

Ahh... The Lonestar Round Up... I missed the first year ('02,) which was somewhat of a bummer, but I purposely skipped out this year to avoid all the people/fakers that the whole culture has become the past few years. Palmer went down there this year & said that Rudy's statement: "It's like Paso, without all the nice cars." Summed the weekend up. Although, I think it was worth the trip for him... Gary Howard (builder of many top-notch customs, such as Jimmie Vaughn's cars) said he doesn't and has never given an award to an unfinished car, but his pick this year was Palmer's '54 F-100!
